Kii Cloud Privacy Policy

We provide the service through the software (hereinafter called “Service”) to customer (hereinafter called “Customer”). “We”, “us” or “our” refer to Kii Corporation, including its affiliate, Kii, Inc. and other affiliates. By using Service, personal data of user of the application hosted on our server (hereinafter called “User”) may be saved in our server, and as to the handling of these information, we establish a privacy policy on the use of Kii Cloud (hereinafter called “Kii Cloud Privacy Policy”).

1. Content information that Customer stores while using Service

1.1 Contents

Service is intended for Customers. We do not collect information directly from User. However, User’s personal data collected by Customer may be stored on our server by using Service and may be used through the system. The data includes the following items.

  • Email address of User
  • Phone number of User

In addition, when User accesses our server through applications or IoT devices developed by Customers, information that identifies what the device is (hereinafter called “device identification information”) may be saved.

1.2 How We Use Information

As to the data above mentioned, purpose of use is as follows.

Email address of User

  • To send email to respond to password reset request by User
  • To send email for authenticating the email address registered by User

In addition, we use following third party sub-processors to process email address.

1.3 How We Share Information

2. Privacy policy that Customer should disclose to User

Customer has a responsibility to disclose the appropriate privacy policy to User (including disclosure that Customer collects personal data from User, Customer may share that information with us, Customer collects and uses the personal data of User and may share this personal data with third party and any other disclosure required by the law).

Information stored on our server

If Customer uses Service and the API, the personal data of User will be stored on our server.

Customer needs to specifies what information of User will be collected, how the information will be used, and whether the information will be shared with us or a third party, by establishing a privacy policy. In addition, according to laws and regulations, Customer needs to obtain consent from User appropriately.

For example,  if Customer is collecting User’s name and email address through a mobile application etc., the Customer should disclose it in their privacy policy.

3. Storing Information

Service is operated on the Internet through a network of servers installed in several countries. Our data will be stored on servers located in the country Customer has selected (Japan, the United States, the EU member states, Singapore, or China).

Personal data collected through Service should be handled appropriately according to the laws of the country where the server is located, and where User is. For example, if User is in the European Economic Area (EEA), the handling of the personal data is subject to the EU General Data Protection Rule (GDPR).

4. Your California Privacy Rights

Under California law, a resident who has provided personal data to a business with whom he or she has established a business relationship is entitled to request information about whether the business has disclosed his or her personal data to any third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes in the previous calendar year. We do not have an established business relationship with any User and we do not distribute personal data to outside parties without your explicit consent.

We require all Customers to comply with the California Shine the Light Privacy law. If you are a California resident and an User, you may request a list of certain third parties to which Customer has disclosed personally identifiable information about you for direct marketing purposes in the previous calendar year. You may request this information in writing by contacting Customer directly.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our website and Services are not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. We also require all Customers to comply with Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act or any other applicable laws relating to protection of children’s online privacy by not collecting personal data from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under the age of 13, whether that child is a Visitor, Customer, User, or other user of the Service, upon receipt of notice from the child or a parent or guardian we will delete that child’s personal data from our systems.

6. Change of privacy policy

Kii Cloud privacy policy may change from time to time as laws and ordinances change. When we change this privacy policy, we will notify Customer by email or announce it on this site.
