Video Tutorial: Implement iOS Push Notifications with Kii Cloud

Push notifications can be one of the trickiest implementations of your iOS app. Between Apple’s certificates, app ids, provisioning profiles and the actual code – it’s a nontrivial task. Going beyond that, you’ll need to set up a specialized server to handle your users’ devices, set up triggers and finally maintain connection between your server and the APNS server. Will it work? Will it scale? How long will this take?

Fortunately with Kii Cloud, you can set up a scalable push implementation for all your app’s users in under 10 minutes without setting up a single server.

Due to the nature of APNS (Apple Push Notification Service), you’ll still need to set up a certificate and profile with Apple and do a few small configurations in Kii Cloud to get up and running. To make this even easier, we have provided the following short video to walk you through every component needed for setting up push notifications in Kii Cloud via a small sample application. We’ll even send a test notification using the Kii Developer Portal. Mimic these steps and you’ll have push working in no time.
